I believe my primary role as a Course Instructor is to facilitate, not to teach per se, the learning processes of my students. Of course, I do not deny the importance of lecturing and teaching in the class. But upgrading and revising the course content to meet the changing needs of the society, deciding effective methods of evaluation and providing feedbacks to my students to enhance their learning processes is as important as delivering a flawless lecture in the class.

Environment and Climate change

Changes in recent climate and associated impacts include changing precipitation and snowmelt altering waterresources and hydro(geo)logical behaviour, leading to floods and droughts. Climate change is also likely to impact water quality including increased sediment loads during floods and increased contaminant concentration during the dry season. Temperature increases are likely to increase water demand, particularly in irrigation, due to increased evapotranspiration. In short, the immediate and direct impacts of climate change are going to be particularly experienced through the medium of water.

This course aims to provide a comprehensive introduction to the state of the art in climate change adaptation for environmental management and hence, it brings together current literature on climate change and the environment with the aim to provide the students an overall picture of the causes, impacts, vulnerability and adaptation strategies.
